The Puja

The Four Great Vows

Sentient beings are numberless; I vow to save them all.
Delusions are inexhaustible; I vow to cut them all.
Dharma gates are boundless; I vow to master them all.
The Buddhahood is the supreme attainment; I vow to achieve it.

Daily Intention

May I stay present and compassionate, moment-to-moment, so that I may offer Wisdom and Compassion for the benefit of all.
For the benefit of all, may I awaken to the Absolute Truth and radiate the Wisdom and Compassion of the perfect enlightenment.

Practice Vows with Right Intention

With utmost sincerity, I respectfully make this vow:
From this moment forth, until reaching the supreme Liberation,
May I always be born in the human realm, and spiritually aligned with the Buddha-Dharma.
May I always meet noble teachers, and never be swayed by wrong views.
May my wisdom be clear, my mind unwavering, my body healthy, and free from obstacles.
May I dedicate myself to its practice without faltering.
May I always be mindful of impermanence, and never cling to worldly pleasures.
May I always be diligent in practice, never falling into laziness or negligence.
May I always be compassionate towards all beings, and never harbor thoughts of harm.
May I always strive to benefit all sentient beings, and never seek personal gain.
May I always be grateful for the kindness of others, and never forget their benevolent acts.
May I realize supreme, perfect enlightenment, and universally liberate all beings.
May I extinguish all defilements, and transcend the cycle of birth and death.
May I always walk the path of the Bodhisattva, and never abandon my great vows.

Metta / Maitri (Loving-Kindness)

May All Beings Be Safe.
May All Beings Be Peaceful.
May All Beings Be Joyful.
May All Beings Awaken to their True Nature.
May All Beings Be Free.

Heart Sutra

The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, while deeply practicing the Prajna Paramita, perceived that all five skandhas are empty and transcended all suffering.

Sariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. The same is true of feelings, perception, mental formation, and consciousness.

Sariputra, all phenomena are marked with emptiness; they are neither created nor destroyed, neither defiled nor immaculate, neither increasing nor decreasing.

Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, perception, mental formation, or consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, or objects of mind; no realm of the eye, up to no realm of mind consciousness; no ignorance and also no extinction of ignorance, up to no old-age and death and also no extinction of old-age and death; no suffering, no origination, no cessation, no path; no cognition, also no attainment with nothing to attain.

The Bodhisattva, relying on Perfection of Wisdom, is unimpeded in the mind. Being unimpeded, there is no fear. Transcending the inverted, dualistic views, one realizes Nirvana.

All the Buddhas of the three times, relying on Prajna Paramita, attain Annutara-Samyak-Sambodhi; unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment.

Therefore, know that the Prajna Paramita mantra is the great transcendent mantra, is the great enlightening mantra, is the unexcelled mantra, is the unequaled mantra, able to dispel all suffering. This is true, not false.

So, proclaim the Prajñāpāramitā mantra, proclaim the mantra that says:

Gate Gate Pāragate Pārasaṃgate Bodhi Svāhā.
Gate Gate Pāragate Pārasaṃgate Bodhi Svāhā.
Gate Gate Pāragate Pārasaṃgate Bodhi Svāhā.
